Connection - Freestore Foodbank eNewsletter

A Parting Message From Our President & CEO

As we reflect on the work that we have accomplished, I want to begin with a heartfelt thank you to our entire tristate community. You have walked alongside me throughout this journey — and in so many instances, you have led the way — in our shared fight to end hunger. Your compassion, commitment and willingness to act have made an extraordinary difference for countless neighbors across our region.

Leading Freestore Foodbank in this vital work has truly been a calling for me, and God has blessed me in this calling. Every day, I have been inspired by the generosity and dedication of volunteers, donors, partners, advocates and an incredible Freestore Foodbank team who believes, as I do, that no one in our community should face hunger alone. Together, we have remained steadfast in our vision of creating a hunger-free, healthy and thriving community, and I am deeply grateful for each of you who has helped bring that vision to life.

While we have accomplished so much together, our work is not done. The need remains great, and the opportunity to make an even greater impact lies ahead. I ask you to continue your generous support by walking alongside Freestore Foodbank’s next leader as you have supported and encouraged me. Your engagement, trust and belief in this mission will ensure that Freestore continues to serve our neighbors with dignity and hope.

Lastly, I would like to thank my wonderful wife, Karen, for walking with me side by side in this incredible journey, and my family for providing an unwavering foundation of support! I am blessed beyond belief!

We are truly better together. And it is because of you — your generosity, your heart and your unwavering commitment — that we are proudly known as Greater Cincinnati.

With gratitude,
Kurt L. Reiber
