Story 1 Felicia Family

Kindness That Empowers

Families like Felicia’s are so thankful for your support

Felicia is a dedicated mother to children ranging from 4 to 18 years old. Between managing a bustling household and caring for her family, she also works full time remodeling grocery stores across the country and often has to travel.

Life has a way of testing even the strongest among us, and Felicia’s family has faced their share of challenges. Last January, a devastating fire destroyed her family’s home, forcing them to rebuild from scratch. As if that weren’t enough, their refrigerator broke down recently, spoiling weeks’ worth of carefully budgeted food.

These setbacks have been overwhelming, making every bit of support a lifeline. “It just really helps to save us just a little bit of money here and there,” Felicia shares.

When resources run low at the end of the month and the pantry starts to look bare, Freestore Foodbank helps bridge the gap, ensuring her children have the nourishment they need to stay healthy and focused.

For Felicia and her kids, a visit to the food bank is a positive and empowering experience. She turns the trip into a fun outing for her children. “I let them do all the shopping, and they actually enjoy it,” she says with a smile.

Felicia is so grateful for the community that makes this support possible. When asked what she would say to generous friends like you, she shares a powerful message of encouragement and thanks. “Don’t stop, continue. You never know whose mouth you’re feeding. At the end of the day, there’s all these kids that they don’t know where their next meal is going to come from, and this actually helps.”

Thank you for making pantries like the one Felicia visits possible. Because of your gifts, so many children and neighbors can live healthier, happier lives.
