Kurt's Korner

This year’s Rubber Duck Regatta is just around the corner on Sunday, September 3, so we let the ducks take over this very special edition of Connection.

In this edition, you’ll read about the history of this incredible event, get up close and personal with our official spokesduck Quacky, and learn how your support and this event help our tristate neighbors facing hunger.

When this event started back in 1995, everyone thought Rubber Duck Regatta founder Bob Edwards had a crazy idea. It might still be crazy, but to date, we’ve sold more than 3 million ducks, which is enough to provide at least 45 million meals! You can learn more about Bob and those 3 million ducks in this issue.

While the Rubber Duck Regatta is certainly a fun and lighthearted event, it has a very serious purpose — and that’s to help children facing hunger in our community get the nutritious food they need to grow and thrive. I know that’s something you’re passionate about.

I hope you enjoy this all-things-duck edition of Connection, and know that we appreciate your support in our hunger-fighting efforts. As always, every $1 you give provides up to 3 meals for neighbors facing hunger. Please consider giving a gift today. Thank you!
