What if you are young and homeless? What if you are LGBTQ and homeless? Talid, a beautiful 21-year-old traveled for 30 hours across the country looking for a safe home for herself and her partner. She came to Lighthouse Youth and Family Services because she knew she would be safe there. Talid loves to write poetry and her girl-friend likes to cook. A day after we met she sent me a poem that she wrote. Her story is stark, compelling and hopeful.Read More …

The simulation will serve as a bridge between theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom and experiential learning via community projects.

LIFT the TriState offers an opportunity for unemployed and underemployed adults throughout the TriState region to become trained in a growing field, providing essential job skills. This 10-week free job training program based in Northern Kentucky will supply hands-on training from experienced warehouse personnel at the Freestore Foodbank, specialized coursework designed by Gateway Community and Technical College, as well as links to local employment through BelFlex Staffing Network and other program partners.
