Location: 1141 Central Parkway, Cincinnati, OH 45202
Time Commitment: 32 hours per week
Duration: 5/15/14 – 9/15/14
Schedule: 9:00a.m. – 5:00p.m. plus weekend, holidays and evening for events
Essential Functions: Work as part of a team to support events that contribute to the scheduling and executing the logistics for special events. To include event planning, event registration, gift distribution, auction, client relationships, time management, leadership, and communication.
Assist with coordinating external service providers in event set up, event hours, and event tear down. Assist clients with questions and concerns before, during and after events. Work with and event vendors to deliver, receive information and set schedules.
Check on events held in other Residential or Commercial Life Spaces with occasional daytime hours, staff meetings and trainings. Assist with publicity for each event. Assist the Director of Development Operations with various activities including editing and press releases, documenting media coverage, updating brochures, and coordinating PR activities for special event and other ad hoc tasks. Hours may increase during peak event dates.
Minimum Qualifications: Currently enrolled in or completed undergraduate studies. Keen interest in pursuing career in non-profit, with a particular focus on development work. Experience in special events planning.
Requirements: Ability to implement plans and prioritize tasks; knowledge of event planning and ability to work effectively with volunteers. Computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets. Lift 50lbs. Must have vehicle. Work Environment: This position is a shared office in an urban area. On site at various event venues.
Parking: Must have vehicle. Parking available at Central Parkway office.
