18th Annual Empty Bowls
What a great afternoon – thank you to everyone who joined us at the Bell Event Centre on Sunday, November 6, 2016 for the 18th Annual Empty Bowls. The event, hosted by the Clay Alliance, featured a soup lunch provided by the American Culinary Federation of Greater Cincinnati,, live entertainment and more than 1,000 handmade bowls from which to choose.
Making A Difference
This year’s event raised $25,000 for our Kids Cafe program. More than 94,000 kids living in the 20 counties served by the Freestore Foodbank aren’t always sure from where their next meal is coming.
“Before I started working on Empty Bowls, I was aware of some children going hungry,” says Peggy Mahoney, Chairwoman of Empty Bowls. “My eyes were really opened when I got involved in Empty Bowls. I had no idea how dire the situation was and how much was needed. There is no reason for hunger in this day and age. It is simply unacceptable to me and our group of potters at Clay Alliance.”
We appreciate your support in helping to make a difference in the lives of hungry children. Thank you for your generosity.
