The Freestore Foodbank is dedicated to providing opportunities that facilitate growth in our agency network. The Mayerson Capacity Development Center offers free, ongoing educational programs for all Freestore Foodbank member agencies. It also hosts workshops offered by other community organizations. The Mayerson Capacity Development Center works to provide resources that nurture our agencies so that they can better serve those in need in our community.
The marquis program of the Mayerson Capacity Development Center is the Leadership Institute. Agencies benefit from a curriculum designed specifically for emergency food providers. Free, monthly workshops are taught by professionals in each area who are volunteers with the Executive Service Corps of Cincinnati. Participating agencies also receive one-on-one coaching provided by ESCC volunteers.

Where is the Mayerson Capacity Development Center located?
The new, Mayerson Capacity Development Center is located at the Freestore Foodbank’s Mayerson Food Distribution Center, located at 1250 Tennessee Avenue in Bond Hill. The 1,100-square-foot facility features state-of-the-art audio visual equipment and a demonstrations kitchen. It accommodates 45-75 people and is fully handicap accessible.
How Can I Get Involved?
The Capacity Development Center is looking for anyone knowledgeable in non-profit management and/or skilled in managing a food pantry, soup kitchen or homeless shelter to share their knowledge through Center programming. Volunteers should be successful at helping clients become self-sufficient and non-profit organizations sustainable.
