The Freestore Foodbank’s Customer Connection Center in Over-the-Rhine gets a facelift. Guests got to tour the newly renovated facility on Liberty Street Thursday evening. Some of the changes include: A new front entrance and foyer, new signs and fresh paint on the exterior of the building, direct access for deliveries to the Liberty Street Market (where clients stock up on needed food) from a new dock off of Liberty Street and from a new Social Services area on the first floor, and completely renovated areas on the second and third floors of the building. All of the changes allow us to better serve clients.

Senators George Voinovich and Sherrod Brown helped the Freestore Foodbank during the renovation process. During Thursday evening’s open house, the following letter of congratulations from Senator Sherrod Brown was presented by Rachel Miller, Constituent Liaison, Office of Senator Sherrod Brown:

Dear Friends:

Although I cannot be with you today, I would like to offer my congratulations as the Freestore Foodbank celebrates the restoration of the Customer Connection Center. This is an exciting redevelopment for the organization.

The Customer Connection Center is of utmost importance in conducting discussion with clients and determining how the Freestore Foodbank can best assist them. Engaging in conversation with clients serves as an integral part in ensuring that client needs are met to the best of the Freestore’s ability, through Freestore Foodbank services and referrals to other social service agencies. The restoration of the Center will help Freestore Foodbank and its member agencies in continuing to serve over twenty counties in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.

As we gather today, I would once again like to offer my congratulations on the renovation of the Customer Connection Center. Please accept my best wishes for the future.

Sherrod Brown
United States Senator
