Empty Bowls is an international movement to involve the pottery community in helping the hungry. The proceeds from the Cincinnati Clay Alliance Empty Bowls events benefit Kids Cafe of the Freestore Foodbank. There are 9 Kids Cafe locations in greater Cincinnati where children receive a nourishing meal, help with homework and personal hygiene, and can participate in fun activities.
Meal tickets include a handmade bowl, soup, bread, and a dessert. The Clay Alliance serves up handmade bowls made by our awesome members and Arnold’s Bar and Grill serves up some delicious soup and bread. Desserts will be donated by Clay Alliance members too. A live jazz trio rounds out the festivities!
Also available for purchase at the event, additional handmade bowls and other ceramic pieces donated by our members.

The Cincinnati Gives Challenge is a friendly fund-raising competition where local charities compete to raise the most money with the top teams winning cash prizes from Cincinnati Magazine. This year $40k is being given away to participating nonprofits and the stakes couldn’t be higher! The Challenge runs from Monday, November 29 at 5 p.m. ET to Thursday, December 9 at 5 p.m. ET.

With nearly 90,000 local kids experiencing food insecurity, LaRosa’s has teamed up with long-time community partner Freestore Foodbank on a ten-week effort specifically to stock 58 school pantries in 19 counties throughout the tristate.

Thanks to our generous customers and a strong commitment from our food pantry partners, Simply Give has continued to be successful in feeding hungry families in our local communities. The program has generated more than $71 million in food donations throughout the Midwest since its inception in November 2008.
In our continued deep-rooted hunger relief efforts, we will be kicking-off the Fall Simply Give Campaign this coming July. The campaign will run a total of 13 weeks from the dates of Sunday, July 3, 2022, through Saturday, October 1, 2022.

- During the upcoming campaign, the Double Match Day opportunities will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, and Saturday, September 10, 2022.
- For every $10 Simply Give card purchased on these dates, Meijer will provide an additional contribution of $20, bringing the total to $30 for a single customer purchase.
- Purchases up to $5,000 across the double match days, will be matched by Meijer up to a maximum donation of $10,000 per pantry/campaign.
The sole purpose of the Simply Give program is to help our food pantry partners feed the growing number of hungry families in the communities we serve.
