TikTok has developed a first-ever game feature within its platform, The Garden of Good. The Garden of Good is available to all US-based app users who are 18 years or older. TikTokers have the opportunity to build a garden, nurture into maturity and eventually harvest those crops in exchange for a real-life monetary donation to Feeding America. For every donated harvest, TikTok will donate a minimum of $.50 or maximum of $2 to Feeding America and local Feeding America Network Food Banks. TikTokers will have the freedom to make as many “harvests” as possible during the lifetime of the game!

On Sunday, September 5, more than 200,000 rubber ducks will swim to solve hunger in the 27th annual Rubber Duck Regatta presented by Dawn. The first prize winner will receive a new Honda courtesy of Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Honda Dealers, and possibly $1 million, if their duck is the “KEMBA Million Dollar Duck.” The second prize winner will receive $100 in gift cards from Kroger every week for a year ($5,200 total), and five additional winners will receive $500 cash from KEMBA Credit Union. Ducks are available now! The Rubber Duck Regatta is the Freestore Foodbank’s largest fundraising event, raising over a million dollars a year for the last seven years.
The Cheesecake Factory is adding a new Coconut Cream Pie Cheesecake to the menu for National Cheesecake Day 2021. In addition to releasing the new flavor, The Cheesecake Factory will be celebrating National Cheesecake Day by donating $1 to Feeding America for every slice of cheesecake sold on July 30. And for every slice of the new Coconut Cream Pie Cheesecake sold from July 31, 2021, through July 29, 2022, they will donate $0.25 to Feeding America.
The program will generate a minimum donation of $300,000 which will be split 50/50 between the national office and the food bank where the qualifying purchase was made.
Join Newport on the Levee as we collect donations in an effort to end hunger in our communities! Donations will be collected September 2-September 5.
Empty Bowls is an international movement to involve the pottery community in helping the hungry. The proceeds from the Cincinnati Clay Alliance Empty Bowls events benefit Kids Cafe of the Freestore Foodbank. There are 9 Kids Cafe locations in greater Cincinnati where children receive a nourishing meal, help with homework and personal hygiene, and can participate in fun activities.
Meal tickets include a handmade bowl, soup, bread, and a dessert. The Clay Alliance serves up handmade bowls made by our awesome members and Arnold’s Bar and Grill serves up some delicious soup and bread. Desserts will be donated by Clay Alliance members too. A live jazz trio rounds out the festivities!
Also available for purchase at the event, additional handmade bowls and other ceramic pieces donated by our members.
