Volunteer Position Description
The Mobile Pantry Driver provides transportation of mobile pantry orders to member agencies, ensures proper handling of product and proper documentation for billing purposes. The schedule is very flexible as the volunteer may choose from the shifts available.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Must have valid Ohio, Kentucky, or Indiana CDL license. Must have experience driving a 26-ft box truck, most recently in the past six (6) months. Experience operating a forklift, power and hand jacks, pallet wrapper, and lift-gate is a plus. Ability to work early morning/evening/weekend hours. Must be willing to work 4-6 hours per assigned day. Ability to coordinate schedule and basic computational skills (add, multiply, divide) effective verbal communication skills.
Agency Preferred Qualifications
High School diploma or GED. Must be 21 years of age. Basic customer service and interpersonal skills, plus knowledge of the Cincinnati metro area.
Physical Requirements & Mental Processes
Able to lift up to 75 pounds on occasion. Ability for standing, bending, kneeling, hearing, seeing, sitting, talking, walking, driving, map reading, reading, writing, analyzing, interpreting, differentiating, identifying, observing and problem solving. Ability to push and/or pull up to 1000 pounds using a pallet jack. Must be able to read, write and speak English clearly. General understanding of rural Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southwest Indiana highways. Must be able to read and understand street maps and follow directions.
Working and driving vehicle in diverse communities and inclement weather and road conditions.
