Volunteer Position Description

The Food Drive Driver provides transportation of barrels and gaylords for food drive donations, ensuring proper handling of food product, cash donations, and maintaining proper documentation for record keeping. The schedule is very flexible.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Must have valid Ohio, Kentucky or Indiana’s driver’s license. Experience driving a 14-ft box truck, most recently in the past six (6) months. Experience operating a hand jack and lift-gate is a plus. Ability to work early morning/evening/weekend hours. Must be willing to work 3-4 hours per assigned day. Ability to coordinate schedule and basic computational skills (add,multiply, divide) effective communications skills.

Agency Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED. Must be 21 years of age. Basic customer service and interpersonal skills, plus knowledge of the Cincinnati metro area. Requires an valid, Ohio, Kentucky, or Indiana driver’s license.

Physical Requirements & Mental Processes

Able to lift up to 75 pounds on occasion. Ability for standing, bending, kneeling, hearing, seeing, sitting, talking, walking, driving, map reading, reading, writing, analyzing, interpreting, differentiating, identifying, observing and problem solving. Ability to push and/or pull up to 1000 pounds using a pallet jack. Must be able to read, write and speak English clearly. General understanding of rural Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southwest Indiana highways. Must be able to read and understand street maps and follow directions.

Working Conditions

Working and driving vehicle in diverse communities and inclement weather and road conditions.
