Double Your Dollars Day
Sign up to join us kick off the holiday season at our phone bank at our Mayerson Distribution Center for Double Your Dollars Day on Thursday, November 13th. Two hour shifts run from 6AM to 6PM!

Check-Out Hunger
Kroger and the Freestore Foodbank are partnering again for the Check-Out Hunger. The campaign gives Kroger customer the opportunity to make a donation at the cash register.

Volunteers are still needed to maintain and uninstall the placards at Kroger stores throughout the Tri-State.

Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday Food Distributions
There is still time to sign up to volunteer at our Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday Food Distributions. Nearly 1,800 help to make this possible. Dates and shift times are below:

Monday, November 24 and Tuesday, November 25
(1st shift: 7:15a-10:30a; 2nd shift: 10a-1p; 3rd shift: 12:30p-3:30p; Last Shift: 3p-6p)

Wednesday, November 26 (1st shift: 7:15a-10:30a; 2nd shift: 10a-12:30p)

Monday, December 22 and Tuesday, December 23
(1st shift: 7:15a-10:30a; 2nd shift: 10a-1p; 3rd shift: 12:30p-3:30p; Last Shift: 3p-6p).

Adopt-A-Family

We are looking for volunteers to help wrap gifts for Adopt-A-Family recipients at our Customer Connection Center. This activity will take place the 2nd and 3rd week of December. To help with Adopt-A-Family, please contact [email protected]

Mayerson Distribution Center (1250 Tennessee Avenue, 45229)
Groups of 10-30 can schedule to volunteer Tuesday-Saturday; shift times (9am-noon or 1pm-4pm) we also offer a 5pm-8pm shift Tuesday- Thursday provided a morning shift isn’t already scheduled that day. Projects include food sorting/scanning, assembly of food boxes such as senior boxes (additional groceries given to our older adult customers ages 60+), holiday boxes (distributed at the Customer Connection Center during the Holiday Food Distribution events) or special event projects such as Duck Tagging/Plucking (usually completed 2-3 weeks before the Rubber Duck Regatta event). Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age with parental consent. For more information and/or to schedule, please contact Tawanda Rollins at [email protected] or (513)482-7557.

Food Room (112 East Liberty, 45202)
Individuals or groups of six or less can schedule a time to volunteer; the hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm. Volunteers are required to commit to at least two or more hours at this location during the hours of operation. Projects include food sorting, restocking shelves with groceries and assisting customers with their groceries outside of the building and loading groceries in their vehicle in front of the building. Feeding-Works

A New Initiative: FeedingWorks-Transformational Teambuilding
The Freestore Foodbank has launched a social enterprise. FeedingWorks is geared towards work groups that need to strengthen their teams.

Highlights of the program:

  • 3-4 hour high energy session
  • Teams work together to make an immediate difference on hunger in Greater Cincinnati
  • The session will help to provide insight on how the team is working together more effectively;
    including strengths and blind spots
  • Improve communication, encouragement and conflict management skills
  • Customized to meet your team’s specific needs
  • Combines leadership and team development
  • Furthers the mission of Freestore Foodbank by feeding hungry children in the community
