“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead

Together, We Can Solve Hunger!
In April, the Freestore Foodbank along with other agencies across the nation will celebrate National Volunteer Week, April 15-21, 2018. During this week, we will honor those who inspire, recognize and encourage others to seek out imaginative ways to engage in our community. National Volunteer Week is about taking action and encouraging individuals and their respective communities to be at the center of social change for the better. Our volunteers are discovering and demonstrating their power to make a difference daily. At the Freestore, we know you don’t have to wear a cape or mask, to work for justice in our world!

We want to take this opportunity to thank the over 11,800 volunteers who are making a difference in the 20 counties that we serve and in the lives of our neighbors in need. We would not be able to make strides in solving hunger without your help! Thank you!

The Freestore Foodbank Volunteer team is filled with everyday heroes who give their time, talents and effort on a regular basis.

All volunteers are welcome to join our team as TOGETHER, WE CAN SOLVE HUNGER! Individuals may self-register and groups may request special dates by visiting our website: freestorefoodbank.volunteerhub.com. Email our Volunteer Engagement Specialist, Carolyn Frank at volunteer@freestorefoodbank.org or call 513-482-7550 for further assistance.

Special Event - Coming Soon

Special Event – Coming Soon:

Volunteer or Walk for Hunger
A Memorial Day Event – 15th Annual Hunger Walk

Lace up your shoes and volunteer for a tremendous cause. Over the last 14 years, Hunger Walk has raised more than $1 million for our partner soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters and community centers. Each step made at the event directly impacts the lives of our hungry neighbors. Spend your Memorial Day with us and volunteer or form a team and walk, run, skip, or stroll along the Ohio River.

Want to help us “run the 5K” by volunteering? Click here: Volunteer 5K. (Registration for volunteer opportunities will open April 10th.)

Want to walk/run in the Hunger Walk and 5K Run or form a team? Click here: Run the Race for more information.

All proceeds support the Freestore Foodbank’s network of 250 partner food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and community centers. Through this network, we are able to provide over 20 million meals each year to hungry children and families in 20 counties in Southwest Ohio, Southeast Indiana and Northern Kentucky. One step at a time, one dollar at a time, together we can solve hunger.
