The Giving Fields will be opening shortly and lots of hands are needed to start the planting process. Families, schools, groups, and individuals are welcome to volunteer at the Giving Fields. Openings are available May through October but are filling up quickly.

Can you spare 20 minutes a week to volunteer? Have you always wanted to get involved at the Freestore, but never had the time due to a busy schedule? Well, here is your chance! There are still a few Kroger stores to be adopted.

Memorial Day Volunteer Opportunity:

Don’t have weekend or Memorial Day plans yet? Now you do! Join us! We are looking for individuals to help “run” the behind the scenes of the Hunger Walk. Volunteers are needed in many areas and there are a host of positions and tasks from which to choose. It’s a festive and fun event for all ages and a great cause.

A New Initiative: FeedingWorks – Transformational Teambuilding
The Freestore Foodbank has launched a new social enterprise. FeedingWorks is geared towards work groups that need to strengthen their teams.

Highlights of the program:

  • 3-4 hour high energy session
  • Teams work together to make an immediate difference on hunger in Greater Cincinnati
  • The session will help to provide insight on how the team is working together more effectively; including strengths and blind spots
  • Improve communication, encouragement and conflict management skills
  • Customized to meet your team’s specific needs
  • Combines leadership and team development
  • Furthers the mission of Freestore Foodbank by feeding hungry children in the community

More ways to get involved 1.2015Donations of canned goods are needed all year around, not just at the holidays! If you would like to organize a canned food drive, please contact Bob Barnes at 513-482-4517.
