From 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, more than 100 families will receive assistance from a food distribution hosted by the Freestore Foodbank and the Reds Community Fund. The food distribution will take place at the P&G Cincinnati MLB Reds Urban Youth Academy located at 2026 Seymour Avenue in Roselawn. The families taking part were pre-identified by two of the Freestore Foodbank’s community partner agencies including Church of the Resurrection Bond Hill and the Caring Place.
Additionally from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., volunteers will help assemble 480 Power Packs at the P&G Cincinnati MLB Reds Urban Youth Academy. The Freestore Foodbank provides the packs of nutritious food to students on Fridays to ensure they have something to eat over the weekend.
Both the food distribution and the Power Pack activity are part of the Reds Community Fund’s annual “Field Day,” an organized series of community volunteer activities around Cincinnati. Approximately 50 kids and coaches from the Madisonville Braves and the Reds RBI teams will volunteer through the food distribution and Power Pack event.
