ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: to give assistance to the Human Resources & Volunteer Management Dept. by completing special projects and day-to-day operations.

35% Ongoing Assist Recruitment Coordinator in communicating employment and volunteer opportunities. Providing volunteer information (ex. volunteer applications, brochures, flyers, etc) to all potential volunteers and/or donors at the Freestore Foodbank.
30% Ongoing Ensure that the department has an accurate record of all volunteers at the Customer Connection Center by updating information to Volunteer Management System and maintaining filing system.
15% Ongoing Provide assistance to the Recruitment Coordinator scheduling individual and group volunteers at all locations and events.
5% As Needed Greet all individual and corporate and/or community group volunteers on scheduled days and special events, provide instruction/direction of volunteers’ assignment.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

5% As Needed Interview and train potential candidates and volunteers at the Liberty St. location.
5% As Needed Assist with monthly volunteer and employee orientation.
5% As Needed Provide assistance to the Recruitment Coordinator scheduling individual and group volunteers at all locations and events.
5% As Needed Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Self starter with good interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to communicate both written and orally well.

Agency Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint skills is a plus. Need reliable transportation. Previous experience working with volunteers is a plus.

Physical Requirements/Mental Processes
Sitting, standing, walking, talking, seeing, and ability to lift 5lbs.

Work Environment
Office environment, minimum interactions with outside vendors. Potential for high risk, including mental illness and substance abuse related behaviors. On site security provided.
