On Thursday, September 22nd, new U.S. Census Bureau statistics were released, painting a bigger picture of the need that exists right here in our own community. According to the data, Cincinnati is one of the top 10 poorest cities in the United States. The city ranks seventh, with 30.6% of residents living in poverty. The Freestore Foodbank is committed to helping our neighbors in need. We use food to start a conversation to figure out what is happening in their lives. From there we can connect them to the necessary resources to give them relief from crisis to stabilize them and help them move to self-sufficiency.
