Position Description

30%OngoingOngoing Responds to customer help requests, coordinates updates and modifications. Maintains records of customer help requests and service provided in the Ready Desk help desk system. Provides reports on services performed to manager.
20%OngoingOngoing Supports Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word and Access, Windows operating systems, and proprietary applications such as Microsoft SQL, Crystal Reports and others as needed. Determines causes of problems with PC’s and the LAN. Develops solutions to problems and assists in repairing equipment.
20%OngoingOngoing Researches, resolves and responds to complex questions as received; involves other IT staff as appropriate. Provides timely expert and creative solutions to customer problems to ensure customer satisfaction and productivity.
10%As NeededWorks with network cabling, serving and routing equipment and administration of resources; installs new and maintains existing hardware.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Able to provide positive customer service and have advanced communication, problem solving and writing skills. Technical proficiency in relevant operating system (Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, Windows 7). Must be able to learn and adapt to new software as they become available and are brought into the agency’s environment. Ability to put together complex reports and understand impact of grouping and sub-grouping of categories to produce a complete picture.

Agency Preferred Qualifications
Associate Degree with computer/networking emphasis or 4 to 6 years of directly related experience. Two years hands-on experience in computer PC/network maintenance and troubleshooting. Working knowledge of LAN’s/WAN’s and telephone systems (VOIP). Experience with A+/N+/MCT/MCSE or equivalent/other relevant certifications. Must be willing to become certified. Experience in Web design and have proven experience supporting and working with SQL-based MS Access database systems. Working knowledge of Crystal Reports, Macola or Raiser’s Edge a plus. Experience with direct computer and telecommunications technical support

Physical Requirements/Mental Processes
Typing, talking, sitting, filing, hearing, writing, analyzing, identifying, analytical reasoning, remembering, understanding, interpreting, and problem solving. Able to lift 40-50 lbs in order to carry computers, printers, monitors etc.

Work Environment
Primarily downtown area, open office environment at possibly multiple locations. Potential exposure to high-risk public, including mental illness and substance abuse related behaviors. On-site security provided. Will work/travel between all Freestore Foodbank locations.
