What are Legacy Gifts? Legacy gifts are gifts other than outright gifts of cash or publicly traded stocks that support the mission of the Freestore Foodbank into perpetuity. You may wish to make a gift through your will or trust, or use different types of assets or create a gift which pays you income back. These charitable gifts require a little thought…and pay off in big benefits to you, your family and to the Freestore Foodbank. These options are considered “legacy” or “planned” gifts.
Your support makes it possible for us to secure and distribute food and groceries to those in need and offers our customers services aimed at creating stability and self-sufficiency in the areas of housing, clothing, money management and job assistance. For many of our donors, legacy giving is the perfect way to express their support.
When you plan a gift to support the Freestore Foodbank in your long-term estate or financial plans, you help us ensure we’ll be here working to eliminate hunger and the causes of hunger for many years to come. Legacy gifts often provide financial benefits to you, too. Tax savings, current cash payments, supplemental support for family and friends – these and other benefits are available depending on your circumstances and objectives.
