At 4:30am, the streets downtown are quiet, except for the sound of Pam’s car, pulling into the Cincinnati Cooks Catering parking lot. Pam steps out just as a cold wind blows against her face, and she is happy to get inside. As the potatoes begin to brown and the smell of bacon fills the air, two more people enter the kitchen to help her prepare. Pam pulls the flaky biscuits out of the warm oven, they load up the van and drive a great breakfast to its destination; today, it’s a breakfast buffet for 200 employees in an office downtown.

While Pam and her staff see to the details of the buffet, Dee and Robert start their day at 7am. The sun is out now and the winds are calm, but it still feels good to enter the warm kitchen. Dee is preparing a lunch buffet for 30 people at an uptown office and 50 boxed lunches for a company in Blue Ash. Dee and Robert deliver the two lunch orders; she loves the compliments she receives about the fresh food! They return to the kitchen to clean up all of the dishes of the day and begin to prepare for the next day’s orders; a couple of Stratas for tomorrow’s breakfast, slicing the cheese and meat for the tomorrow’s boxed lunch sandwiches and wrapping the asparagus in buttered filo dough for a cocktail party later that evening.

It’s all in a day’s work for Cincinnati Cooks Catering; the early mornings and late evenings are just part of the job. “The work is fun and rewarding,” says Amy Heyd, Catering Marketing Specialist of Cincinnati Cooks Catering, “and offers staff the flexibility, diversity and opportunity to be creative, as well as proud of the service they’re providing.”

Amy’s goal is to spread the word that a new corporate catering menu has recently been released, offering competitive pricing and more options. “We offer much more than delicious food, and prompt, friendly service” she says. “We provide an easy and impactful way for people invested in their city to contribute and nurture the community.”
