This concert is part of a national initiative called Orchestras Feeding America to fight hunger in not only the tri-state area, but throughout the United States. OFA has gathered more than 475,000 pounds of food donations from more than 450 orchestras nationwide to raise awareness of hunger among local communities. All food donations from this concert will benefit the Freestore Foodbank of Cincinnati, allowing us to aid the one in six neighbors in our tri-state area who are at risk of hunger. Please join us! The special ticket discount begins Monday, February 27 at 10 AM. Call the CSO box office at 513.381.3300 or order online. All canned food donations can be brought to the Taft Theatre on March 3.
Every Thursday night, Keystone Bar & Grill hosts Community Pint Night. When a guest purchases a pint of beer, they receive a wooden token in exchange. The guest can then deposit the token, valued at 25 cents, in the charity box of their choosing. At the end of each quarter, we tally up all of the tokens and present a check to each participating organization.
We have two standing charities, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati and the Freestore Foodbank. The third charity box rotates quarterly and we actively accept applications on a rolling basis.
The afternoon begins at noon, with complimentary appetizers provided by Cincinnati COOKS! Each year, the Cincinnati-based Freestore Foodbank distributes 23 million meals throughout 20 counties in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. As an additional part of their outreach, the foodbank offers Cincinnati COOKS!, a free program that teaches participants the ins and outs of the food industry to improve their professional and personal lives. Freestore Foodbank President and CEO Kurt Reiber will be on hand to provide more information about the foodbank and its many tangible (and tasty) programs.
Then, tour the American Sign Museum. Located in its permanent space since 2005, the museum takes visitors on a nostalgic tour through Americana with its countless signs of the times.

Fill a Seat, Feed a Family
FC Cincinnati, the Freestore Foodbank and Lindner Women in Business at the University of Cincinnati are partnering for the first “Fill a Seat, Feed a Family” campaign on Saturday September 17 at Nippert Stadium. That evening, FC Cincinnati is playing Orlando City B at 7:00pm for the last game of the regular season.
Our goal on the 17th is simple – Fill every seat and collect 23,375 cans—one for EVERY soccer seat at Nippert. Volunteers will also collect monetary donations at the gate throughout the game. Every dollar donated counts as a can towards the goal.
Fast Park is hosting its ninth annual food drive to support Feeding America food banks across the country. If you are traveling between September 12-October 7, please consider bringing a canned good or nonperishable food item to the Fast Park location located at 613 Petersburg Road in Hebron. All donations made at this location will benefit the Freestore Foodbank.
In the last eight years, Fast Park has donated more than 50,000 pounds of food and more than $50,000 to food banks across the United States.
