Food For Kids Coordinator: Kids Cafe
AmeriCorps VISTA Position

Location: 1250 Tennessee Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229
Duration: 12 months
Time Commitment: 40 hours/week
Schedule: M-F, 8am-4pm

Essential Functions: Engage and support new and returning Kids Cafe partner site coordinators by serving as an ongoing liaison for program needs including but not limited to: preparing and conducting training and orientation, data collection and reporting procedures, scheduling/order changes, conducting CACFP and other site visits, serving as a point person for delivery questions/concerns, and any other issues that arise. Recruit and engage volunteers to assist with the Kids Cafe program at interested partner sites. The ultimate goal is to have a sufficient number of volunteers at each Kids Cafe site to meet program guidelines and funding requirements. Assist in researching community support opportunities including grants to expand and sustain the Kids Cafe program in FSFB urban and rural counties. Assist in ongoing research regarding nutrition, alternative models, etc. to continually improve the Kids Cafe program. This research may involve surveying Kids Cafe Coordinators, recipients, parents, and/or members of the community. Engage and support new and returning Power Pack partner site coordinators by serving as an ongoing liaison for program needs as needed. This may include: preparing and conducting training and orientation, data collection and reporting procedures, scheduling/order changes, conducting site visits, serving as a point person for delivery questions/concerns, and any other issues that arise. Recruit, engage, and coordinate FSFB volunteer drivers to deliver Power Packs in urban and rural counties as needed. The ultimate goal is to secure, train, and schedule drivers to handle deliveries to the majority of FSFB’s Power Pack sites. Assist in researching community support opportunities including grants to expand and sustain the Power Pack program in FSFB urban and rural counties as needed. Assist in ongoing research of potential products, alternative models, etc. as needed to continually improve the Power Pack program. This research may involve surveying Power Pack Coordinators, recipients, parents, and/or members of the community. Research, contact, and secure SFSP partner sites. Develop training and train SFSP partner sites on reporting responsibilities and provide ongoing training and support as needed. Train the SFSP Summer Associate on all aspects of the SFSP program, including assisting with site visits, scheduling, recruitment materials, and SFSP data entry if necessary. Assist in researching community support opportunities including grants to expand and sustain SFSP in FSFB urban and rural counties.

Minimum Qualifications: Critical thinking, customer service skills, computer proficiency (including MS Office products), ability to work with and serve diverse clientele, presentation skills, ability to clearly articulate verbally and in writing, adherence to confidentiality, ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements: Minimum age 18 years old. College graduate. AmeriCorps application, including 2 references. Mandatory conference call with OASHF. Background check. May not have additional employment during term of service and academic enrollment/participation is limited.

Compensation: Bi-Weekly living allowance of $411.23, choice of end-of-term education award ($5500) or cash stipend ($1500), health care, if applicable: relocation allowance and child care assistance. Please see AmeriCorp for additional information.
